美国“阅读书屋”建设学校图书馆的实践研究

摘要: 美国“阅读书屋”是一家致力于儿童教育的公益组织,目前主要在亚洲和非洲的10个国家开展识字教育计划和女生教育计划,建设学校图书馆是识字教育计划的一部分。阅读书屋在学校图书馆的阅读环境、阅读时间、专业技能发展、家庭和社区参与等方面实行标准化控制。图书馆建成后,阅读书屋对其进行定期监测,提供业务指导,直到图书馆能自主有效运营。此外,阅读书屋还对学校图书馆的各项工作进行专题研究,如图书外借情况和阅读推广情况等。我国关注儿童教育的组织和机构可以借鉴阅读书屋建设学校图书馆的经验,帮助孩子享受阅读权利。

Abstract: Room to Read is a nonprofit organization in America that concerns on children' education. In 10 countries of Asia and Africa, Room to Read conducts Literacy Program and Girls’ Education Program currently. School libraries' construction is one part of Literacy Program. Standardized control reflected in literate environment, time to read, professional development, family & community engagement. After construction, Room to Read runs regular monitoring and provides guidance until libraries operate independently and efficiently. Furthermore, Room to Read carried out series research on various tasks of school libraries such as books checkout and reading promotion. Organizations concern on children education in our country might draw on experiences of school libraries constructed by Room to Read, with which can be used to ensure children’s right of reading.
