An Exploration of the Relationship between reading habits and children's civic literacy

Civic literacy is an important factor that determines the long-term development of a country.Therefore,children's civic literacy is related to the future of a country.Based on the data of China's education tracking survey,this paper divides children's reading input into three aspects:reading interest,reading time and reading quantity. By means of multiple regression and ordinal regression, this paper examines the impact of reading input on children's cognitive literacy, emotional literacy, ability literacy and behavioral literacy. The study found that the reading interest and reading quantity have a full range of positive effects on children's literacy,reading time needs in the protection of children's reading content and skills under the precondition of will have a positive impact, at the same time, network and computer and other digital resources plays a positive role on children's growth,but playing games will have a negative impact on children's behavior,but the collection of all levels of children in the family, such as computer and network culture there is a huge gap of capital. Therefore, based on the research conclusions, this paper puts forward a number of policy suggestions,such as increasing public cultural supply,eliminating the digital divide between urban and rural areas,shaping children's reading atmosphere at home,and improving children's reading skills.
