摘要： 为老年读者服务是我国公共图书馆界面临的新课题。从为老年读者服务的社会意义，公共图书馆的社会责任两方面论证了公共图书馆应做好老年读者服务工作。并提出了公共图书馆为老年读者服务的措施。

Abstract: Serving for the aged readers is a new subject to public libraries in China.This paper demonstrates that public libraries should provide excellent services for the aged readers from two aspeeta：One is ita aocial significance,and the other is ita social responsibilities.At last, the author pointa out the measures for the public libraries to serve the aged readers.
