Abstract:

The construction of featured collections in university library contributes greatly to the development of featured disciplines and the university itself. This paper expounds on a necessity of constructing featured collections in the university. On the basis of an extensive survey and analysis of featured collections in the University Alliance alongside Hanjiang River Basin, the paper puts forward a notion that the construction of such featured collections shall be accommodating to the special features of the universities, the disciplines and the local cultures.
