Abstract: Personalization is the main trend to improve the digital library services.Up to now,the most common approach for personalization in digi ,tal library has been user driven.This paper introduces a new user modeling and the adaptive digital library that satisfies user s necessity for information ：automatically learning user preferences and goals by machine learning techniques and realizing the interaetion between user and personalized digital library.
