Abstract: In order to evaluate the quality and the efficacy of teaching objectively,and to discover the weakness and existing problems during the course of teaching, this paper analyses the test papers of 56 students in their final exam of information retrieval and utilization course.The students are from the classroom two, 2004 class with the major of art design (041221-2) in the College of Chinese Law and Arts,East China Institute of Technology.The analysis shows that the grades present a normal distribution, the kind of questions is relatively comprehensive, the questions are relatively easy, the index of discrimination is small,the reliability of grade is good and most of students grasp the emphases of the course,but the scope of their knowledge is not wide enough.
