Abstract: The theory and practice of library as the ＂third space＂ is a hot topic in foreign library circle in recent years. An new community library service model based on the idea of library as a ＂third space＂ in USA has been widely welcomed by the people. This paper discusses the construction and service of the＂ third space＂ in public li- braries by learning from the operating mode of the ＂third space＇in one way street library.
