Research on the Construction of Integrated Information Commons: Taking Professional Network Reading Room of Jiangxi Vocational and Technical College of Information Application as an Example

Abstract: Integrated information commons is a mode that libraries and relevant departments collaborate to provide the readers with "one-stop" services, which can satisfy the need for professional, personalized, knowledgeable deep service by users from colleges to a large extent. Taking professional network reading room of Jiangxi Vocational and Technical College of Information Application as an example, this paper presents constructing ideas, meth- ods and procedures of integrated information commons based on profession, practice effects and existing prob- lems, demonstrates a manipulative case about special integrated information commons to provide references for further exploring new formats of information commons service that are suitable for the situations in China and promoting applications of information commons in colleges.
