Abstract: Course information service is one of the routine information services in American university libraries.The patterns,contents and function modes of these course information services can be used for reference by Chinese university libraries.This paper analyzes the contents,characteristics and function of course information service,briefly introduces the actualities of course information service in China, mainly studies the course information service based on web in some American university libraries.Finally,it puts forward some suggestions on course information service in Chinese university libraries.
