Abstract: Case method of Teaching is an inspiration-style classroom teaching method. Based on the interest in reading and course content of engineering students, this paper gives some information retrieval course cases which university students are interested in at books.patent literature.dissertation document retrieval course, the preview,explanation ,evaluation and summary can stimulate the interesting of students and improve the teaching effect of information retrieval course.
