Abstract: As an important part of public cultural services,public libraries provide the society with a variety of popular books, audio＆visual materials,common information, internet access and public service activities, aiming at elevating civil qualities and inheriting outstanding culture. The participation Of social forces brings public libraries vigour and a new look. Taking Shanghai Modern Literature Yangpu Library as an example,this article discusses the participation of social forces in the construction of subject libraries,giving available approaches,existing problems and possible solutions.
