Abstract:

The form of Chinese common books’ title is complex and diverse. In exceptional cases, such as title’s format is not standardized, it is difficult to distinguish between the title proper and subtitle, it is the multilingual title, etc, because cataloging rules are missing or not uniform, the selection of the title proper is prone to inconsistency. RDA is the latest international cataloging rule, the application of RDA in the title proper selection of Chinese common books will be conducive to the realization of a unified description of the title proper.
