Abstract: Community libraries are the widest and largest part of public library system and playing an important role in cultural transmission in the USA. Its personalized service mode, objective of meeting requirements and effective operating mechanism are helpful for Chinese community library. This paper analyzes the current situation of personalized service and mechanism in American community libraries from service nature, service role and content construction.
