Abstract: Starting from the concept of "third generation library", this paper introduces the construction project of Helsinki Central Library, Finland, which is the winner of IFLA's "best public library" in 2019, and introduces the design practice of Helsinki Central Library from the aspects of its appearance design, moving line planning,regional division and space design.This paper analyses the enlightenment of the library to the construction of the third generation of libraries in the aspects of location, public participation, open sharing and the role of librarians.
