Abstract: Serving for the aged readers is a new subject to public libraries in China.This paper demonstrates that public libraries should provide excellent services for the aged readers from two aspeeta：One is ita aocial significance,and the other is ita social responsibilities.At last, the author pointa out the measures for the public libraries to serve the aged readers.
