Abstract: The essence of library philosophy is to rethink library problems from philosophy angle.The rethink is not ordy to criticize, but also to construct actively. At present, the research of library philosophy in China is limited to discussions on ＂what is ＂ library philosophy. It doesn＇t discuss what library philosophy does.Taking library administration as an example,the paper concentrates on discussing the indispensable construction value in the world outlook and methodology.
