Protection of Readers’Personal Information from the Perspective of Article 43 of the Law on Public Libraries

Abstract: Article 43 of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Public Libraries (hereinafter referred to as the "Public Library Law") establishes the legal formulation of the protection of readers’ personal information and stipulates the corresponding obligations of public libraries.Based on the theory and practice of public library legal system,this paper analyzes the application of law in Article 43 of the Public Library Law by analyzing the methods of law and normative law,and proposes suggestions such as legislation, institutionalized guarantee, technical support and information protection for special reader groups to guarantee the implementation of this clause.
